All memberships in AABJ are based on annual dues that expire one year from the date they are paid. So if you join on August 1st, your membership expires on August 1st of the following year.
AABJ's three classes of membership are as follows:
Full Membership - available to: (1) writers, reporters, editors, photographers, columnists, and artists employed by any newspaper, television station, radio station, magazine, or wire service; or (2) freelance writers, reporters, editors, photographers, columnists, or artists who earn a majority of their income from freelance activity; or (3) any person who is otherwise eligible for Full Membership as defined above who is on leave of absence from his or her employment or freelance activity to attend a fellowship program; and (4) any other persons holding a Full Membership in AABJ on the date of adoption of our current bylaws until such a time as their Full Membership is terminated by failing to pay dues or as otherwise set forth by our chapter bylaws.
Associate Membership - available to: (1) journalists employed in an academic field such as, but not limited to, high school or college journalism teachers or professors; and (2) media sales personnel, public relations persons who work in news media, and other communication related professions.
Student Membership - available to full- and part-time students enrolled in mass communications courses at accredited colleges and universities in Georgia.
